The first half of the trail goes through the marked hiking bypass "Kajbumščakov put".
The start is in front of the Krapina Neanderthal Museum on Hušnjakovo brdo (180 m above sea level) and through Magistratska Street you climb to the Old Town of Krapina, where Barbara of Celje, better known as the Black Queen, reigned around 1400.
Passing through the cave, on a forest single track between gentle cliffs, the ascent begins towards Šušelj Brijeg (439 m above sea level), from which a forest path leads along undulating peaks to Radoboj, where the first refreshment point is located at the mountain lodge (7 km). After the refreshment point, the ascent begins towards the Hunters' Lodge (500 m above sea level), where the first refreshment point is located, and then a gentle descent along a beautiful forest path to the Orchid Meadow - Poljana (470 m above sea level).
Then follows the climb towards the pass and then the highest peak of Strahinjčica – Sušec (846 m above sea level). Ten years ago, a large fire raged on the peak of Strahinjčica and its consequences in this area are still visible today. And for Sušec, a beautiful 1km running trail gently descends to the second most beautiful viewpoint on the trail – the Dedek rock, where the second refreshment stop will also be (km 14).
The trail descends steeply past the mountain lodge "over the mine" in Krapinske Lazi and takes a forest path to the Galga hill above Krapina, from which there is a view of Hušnjakovo brdo and the destination, which is reached by descending through the Old Town.
The trail is demanding due to the climb to the top of Strahinjčica, so we recommend it to fitter runners and prehuman hunters of small game.
